Jen and her husband Brian opened their doors on July 11th, 2018. Their dining room seats 85, and their patio (with fire pit, Adirondacks, & corn hole) seats 26. They also have a private sunroom that has been a huge hit for parties. We were able to ask them a few questions about their wonderful restaurant; see the responses below:

1. What was your inspiration for opening DT&T?

My husband Brian and I had been looking for a spot in Scarborough for 8 or so years but wanted to wait until we found the perfect location for us. We collectively have over 50 years of restaurant experience and had been running Shays Grill Pub in Monument Square since 2006, but were looking forward to opening a spot outside of Downtown Portland. We knew the demand was here in Scarborough, and we loved the idea of the neighborhood feel. Once we found The Village at Dunstan Crossing, we knew it was meant to be. We worked from the ground-up and were able to create our dream restaurant where families could come and be comfortable, regulars could hang at the bar, but also being a great date night spot at the same time. 

2. What is something people don’t know about DT&T? (That you want them to know)

That everything is made from scratch by our extremely talented Chef Brandon Tenney. He’s a CIA graduate and we have the best kitchen staff around! 

3. Do you have a self-proclaimed specialty dish? If so, what is it?

It’s so hard to narrow our menu down to one dish, but if I had to choose, I’d say our Fried Brussels Sprouts! They have an Asian flair and are served with pork belly which just melts in your mouth. But seriously, our food is so delicious I could list so many items. So good!
