Thank you Perk’s Beer & Beverage for hosting Scarborough Buy Local Mix & Mingle after 5 event!
Perk’s has been open since May of this year and is owned by Jason and Laura Perkins. We stopped in the other day and asked Jason some questions about the business!
1. Why did you open Perk’s?
Local craft beer had always been a passion for us. From an early age, I had always wanted to own my own company, after working in a few different industries, the time was right to chase the dream. We found our current location and fell in love with it.
2. What are some exciting things that you offer as a product or service that people might not know about?
Our focus is local craft beer & specialty wine. We also stock all the large domestic beers along with ciders, spiked seltzers, meads, kombuchas, etc. Our wine inventory has been selectively chosen by our in house wine experts. We worked hard to have a handful of recognizable labels, but also have a lot of unique wines, geared to the adventurous wine drinker. Our in house wine specialist will make recommendations based upon your preferences. If we don’t have something on the shelves and its available in Maine, we can get it for you!
3. Why Scarborough and what is your connection with the area?
We have been fortunate to receive a tremendous amount of local support in our short existence. Being Scarborough residents for 15 years, having 2 kids in the school district, we feel that its very important to cater to our local customer base. We work hard to create a friendly and inviting shopping experience that will keep everyone coming back in to try something new.
The new Scarborough Business Directories have arrived! We have been dropping books off at various locations.
If you would like a copy and have not received one you can find them at Mend Health and Wellness, all Scarborough Banks, Scarborough Town Hall, The Holy Donut, Scarborough Grounds and many local Scarborough Buy local Businesses.
